When using a flat bottomed sharp knife for carving and processing, the first step is to properly clamp the tool, clean the handle and clamp of debris, ensure that the clamping is firm and concentric, shorten the tool extension length as much as possible, enhance rigidity, reduce shaking, and avoid tool deviation and breakage.
It is strictly prohibited to cut the blade vertically. It is preferred to use a diagonal or spiral blade to reduce the force on the blade tip and prevent direct damage to the blade tip. During processing, perform layered cutting, strictly control the depth of a single cutting, avoid cutting too deeply at once, slow down the cutting speed at corners, and reduce tool load.
Reasonably match the rotation speed and feed rate, adjust the parameters according to different materials such as wood, acrylic, and density board, and avoid tool wear caused by low rotation speed and fast feed rate. Clean the sawdust and debris in a timely manner during the processing to ensure smooth chip removal and prevent debris from scratching the workpiece or burning the blade.
Fix the board firmly during operation to prevent the workpiece from shaking or shifting. Novices should first try carving and adjusting parameters before formal processing. Pay attention to the condition of the cutting tools during homework. If there are rough lines or cutting noises, stop the machine immediately for inspection. Clean the cutting tools in a timely manner after processing is completed, store them properly, avoid collision and damage to the cutting edge, and extend the service life of the cutting tools.
